Please remember to check your fingerprint and CIS approval expiration dates. As a reminder, please put these dates on a calendar, refrigerator or any other place where you will be sure to see them. It is necessary that your approvals are current and that you follow the necessary steps to prevent them from expiring.>>
It is not a secret that Russia has undergone quite a few changes in recent years. Part of this transformation means that prices for goods and services have sky-rocketed. While we also experience slight inflation in the United States, it is nowhere near the rate of Russia, where the average annual inflation rate has been at around 12% for several years now and is expected to hit 14% in 2009. In addition to this, the exchange rate of US dollar to the Russian ruble is constantly shifting, making it difficult to predict where it will be at any given time. As a result, it was determined that any family that applied prior to January 01, 2008, will have to pay the $1,000 Currency Adjustment/Inflation Fee in order to “correct” the differences between Russian and US economies. This adjustment will be calculated in the final fees.
